Privacy
In short: you can read builtandbilled.com without an account and without telling us who you are. There is no analytics, no advertising and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Our hosting provider processes basic technical data to deliver the pages. If you email us, we use your message to reply. We do not sell personal data.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the team operating builtandbilled.com. For anything about privacy, including requests to use your rights, write to contact@builtandbilled.com.
What we handle and why
- Technical request data (IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, time, referring page). Processed on every visit by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website. We do not use it to profile readers and we keep no server logs of our own.
- Your email and what you write, only if you email us. Used to reply and to correct the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
There are no accounts, comments, newsletters, forms or payments on this site.
Cookies and local storage
- No analytics or advertising cookies. The site does not run analytics, ads or tracking pixels, and it shows no cookie banner because it sets nothing that needs your consent. If we add analytics later, it will load only after you accept it in a cookie banner, and we will update this page before it goes live.
- Your theme choice. If you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key
bb-theme. It stays on your device, is never sent to us and does not identify you. Clear your browser’s site data to remove it. - Security cookies from our host. When its security features are active, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to detect bots and block attacks. These are not used for analytics or advertising.
Fonts are served from builtandbilled.com itself, and we do not embed third-party videos, maps or widgets.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, content delivery, DNS and security (technical request data).
- Cloudflare Email Routing and Google (Gmail): messages sent to contact@builtandbilled.com are forwarded by Cloudflare to the Gmail mailbox we reply from.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards they publish, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
- Emails: only as long as needed to answer you and act on a correction, then deleted.
- Technical request data: kept by Cloudflare under its own retention policy; we keep no copy.
- Theme choice: on your device until you clear it.
Links to other sites
Vendor links lead to sites we do not control. Once you leave builtandbilled.com, that site’s privacy policy and cookies apply. Vendors do not send us your name or payment details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU or the UK GDPR, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to contact@builtandbilled.com and we will answer within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, usually the one in the country where you live or work. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
US readers: we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
